Winter Experiences
Answered prayers God I really thank you for answering my prayers as I continue to witness to my peers and be a light to those who surround me in my life. It’s been an amazing journey throughout this winter break. I shared a couple weeks ago that I prayed that God will do great things through my own testimony and He did. Two weeks ago I went up to Prescott pines to be a counselor for...

Reflection
Every now and then I would look back of what has happened in my life. When I was born I got a cut on my upper right forehead by the doctor. Later, I developed a ball in my cheek where it progressively grew until the age of one. At the age of five my parents had a divorce and was rejected by my own mother. My dad and my grandparents took care of me as I continue to be this sweet loving child....

Waiting to serve part 2
Every morning the sun arises as I sit upon my bed asking,” God how may I serve you today?” I am blessed each day that God has given me the opportuniry to encourage each and everyone of my friends. “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release...

Philippians 2: 1-11
So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4Let each of you look not only to his own interests,...

Reminder
I am continually reminded of what a priceless gift my life is, that i count my blessings each day as I grow to be a spiritual mature believer in Christ. I will never stop having passion for people to love, to have compassion, and trust.  “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things...

Food for thought
Basic things are about what is eternal? Whether all or only some or none is eternal is about whether or not God exists. If one knows about God then one knows about human origins and therfore about human nature. If one knows about human nature then one knows about good and evil. Therefore the basic things are about God and man and good and evil are clear to reason. I don’t really...

Trust God to be part of His party
Rob Bell says, “Hell is our refusal to trust God’s retelling of our story. We all have our version of events. Who we are, who we aren’t, what we’ve done, what that means for our future. Our worth, value, significance. The things we believe about ourselves that we cling to despite the pain and agony they’re causing us.” (Bell, 170-171). The parable of the prodigal son is a great example of...

The way I pray
nategreen: Father in Heaven May you be honored for who you are By all people Of every language, culture, and religion May your Kingdom continue to invade this world And all of human activity May things happen the way you want them to Here, just like they do in Heaven Give us today what we need for today Forgive us for wronging you and others And help us to forgive anyone who wrongs us ...

Is Hollywood Messing with Us?
The Social Network was undoubtedly the film of 2010. The David Fincher epic about the founding of Facebook is the odds-on favorite to win the best picture Oscar and has been picking up scores of “best film” accolades in recent months. With a theatrical, chatterbox script penned by Aaron Sorkin,Network takes quite a bit of liberties with the retelling of the Mark Zuckerberg story, but most...

The name's Awesome, Captain Awesome: Man inspired...
A man has changed his name from the relatively mundane Douglas Smith to the more explosive Captain Awesome - because of a ‘really funny’ joke on a TV show.  Douglas Allen Smith Jr, 27, has successfully changed his name to Captain Awesome, with Captain his legal forename, after he convinced a judge that he wasn’t changing his name for fraudulent reasons. Awesome, of Eugene,...

This song gets me everytime just being reminded of God humblness and Grace. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “But He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” This passage resembles to me that grace is sufficient in my life as Christ is close to my heart. In enlightenment of this wonderful passage it gave me a chance to humble myself in a Christ like...

Humble Servant (Gospels paper by:paul sun)
Issac Newton, speaking on humility said, “If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.” Newton implied that if someone has done something great, it is because of the people who paved the way to success. Jesus had been broken, spat at, tortured, and convicted and displayed His response with true humility. Jesus has become a model to everyone since the...

Universal remote arrives within a pillow
It’s a pillow. And a remote. And if your powers of observation are anywhere near “strong,” you’ve probably deduced by now that you’re looking at a universal remote control… albeit one that’s wrapped within a pillow. We’ve seen similar creations come around in concept form, but leave it to the folks at Brookstone to turn this thing into a reality....

My Hope is found ( Owl City)
I was up late last night and decided to record a “cover song” of sorts. Not for anything special, just for fun. I’m twenty four years old, yet something about this song makes me ball like a baby. The way the melodies and lyrics swirl together is so poignant and beautiful. If I were to count on one hand, the number of songs that have ever deeply moved me, this one would take the cake. Last...

Running with a passion
Towards the beginning of the semester of 2010 I’ve been training with my school cross-country team. Literally, this past two months has been a huge encouragement to me, because as I continue to run hard I believe I can succeed in anything. God has provided me with so much in my life to strengthen my body to have the ability run long distances. It’s interesting enough that each...

“Paul’s Collision with James ”
Although Paul and James developed a strong friendship while exploring on their missionary journey, their works have sparked disagreement on one key topic: the issue of justification.  In the biblical text, the word justification is defined as being righteous before God. The Greek word dikaios is the translation of justification defined to show righteousness (Strong 1521). In both the Greek and...
